Generate Your First AI Article in 3 Minutes
In 3 minutes you’ll have a complete, formatted AI article in your WordPress editor — ready to review, edit, and publish. No prompting experience needed.
Before You Start
You’ll need:
- AIWU plugin installed and activated (Quick setup guide)
- An API key from any AI provider (How to choose a provider)
- A topic or keyword for your article
- Time needed: ~3 minutes
- Plan required: Free
Step 1: Open the Content Generator
Go to WordPress Admin → AI Copilot → Content Generation.
What you should see: The content generation interface with a topic/keyword input field and settings for article length, tone, and format.
Step 2: Enter Your Topic
In the Topic / Keyword field, type what you want the article to be about. Be specific — the more context you give, the better the result.
| ✅ More specific (better results) | ❌ Too vague (generic results) |
|---|---|
| “10 tips for caring for a Labrador puppy in winter” | “dog tips” |
| “How to choose running shoes for flat feet” | “running shoes” |
| “WooCommerce vs Shopify for small handmade businesses” | “ecommerce comparison” |
Step 3: Choose Your Article Settings
Set these options before generating:
- Language: Select the language you want the article in
- Length: Start with
Medium(800–1200 words) for your first article - Tone: Choose
Informativefor most blog content, orConversationalfor lifestyle topics - AI Provider: Select the provider whose key you configured in Settings
Step 4: Generate the Article
Click the Generate button.
What you should see: A progress indicator appears. Depending on length and provider, generation takes 10–30 seconds. When complete, the article text appears below.
The article will have:
- A title (H1)
- Structured headings (H2, H3)
- Introduction, body sections, and conclusion
- Ready to copy or send to the WordPress editor
Step 5: Send to WordPress Editor
Click Send to Editor (or Create Post) to push the article directly into a new WordPress draft post.
What you should see: WordPress opens a new post with the AI content already loaded in the editor. The post is saved as a draft — not published yet.
Verify It Works
Go to WordPress Admin → Posts → Drafts. You should see your new AI-generated post listed there, ready to review and edit.
Common Issues
Problem: “Generation spinner runs forever, no article appears.”
Fix: Check your API key in Settings → API. Also confirm your provider account has credits. See AI Not Responding guide.
Problem: “The article is too short / too generic.”
Fix: Make your topic more specific (see the table in Step 2). Increase the length setting to Long. Add a Focus Keywords or additional context in the prompt field if available.
Problem: “The article is in the wrong language.”
Fix: Check the Language dropdown in Step 3. If it’s set correctly but the AI still writes in English, add the language to your topic: “10 Tipps für Hundehalter im Winter [German]”.
